Black Friday

The stark reality

Is that black Friday is aptly named

Its a dark day for society

Yet society is the one who has made it famed

Stampeding like beasts

Racing to grab meaningless possessions

So shortly after thankful feasts

We let gratitude send greed his concessions

Now society’s shape is rough

Because gratitude has become an afterthought to greed

We never have enough

Taking all that we want and not just what we need

So let’s change society

Hanging greed back up on the department store rack

Making life not about me

Becoming a culture that doesn’t in gratitude lack

While Thanksgiving is over

Thanks giving never should be.
